Wyandotte hatching eggs
Wyandotte chickens were first bred and developed in the 1870's in the United States.
Wyandottes are good dual purpose birds that are a great choice for a backyard flock. The hens lay brown eggs at a rate of about 200 per year. The hens weigh around 6 pounds and the roosters weigh around 8 1/2 pounds.
Eight colors are recognized by the APA: silver laced, white, black, buff, Columbian, partridge and silver penciled.
For whatever reason you want to raise your own chickens, Wyandottes are an unbeatable choice for a backyard flock. Wyandottes have a docile disposition and are excellent egg producers. For hardiness, meat and egg production, combined with ease of keeping, Wyandottes are a hard breed to beat.
