Ameraucana hatching eggs
The Ameraucana breed was developed in the 1970’s as an alternative to the Araucana which has a lethal gene problem. Many people call the Ameraucana “Easter egg chickens” because they lay blue and green eggs. They have peacombs, red earlobes, a tail, beard ,and muffs.
Eight varieties are recognized by the American Poultry Association; Black, Blue Wheaten, Brown-red, Buff, Silver, Wheaten, and White.
